Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Canonical discriminant analysis applied to broiler chicken performance

open access: yesAnimal, 2008
The mechanisms involved in the control of growth in chickens are too complex to be explained only under univariate analysis because all related traits are biologically correlated.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Physiological characteristics in seeds of the common bean under multicollinearity and conditions of salinity

open access: yesRevista Ciência Agronômica
The objective of this work was evaluate multicollinearity effect and discard the variables which are based on multicollinearity reduction in diversity analysis of common bean genotypes, related to seeds physiological quality, in different salinity levels

Canonical analysis of climatic factors associated with the quality characteristics of drinking water of a city in São Paulo State

open access: yesRevista Ambiente & Água, 2019
Several factors may contribute to changes in monitoring parameters of drinking water quality, especially climatic characteristics. Behavioral studies of these characteristics are relevant to the rational and sustainable use of water resources and better ...

Jerk forms dynamics of a Chua’s family and their new unified circuit implementation

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices and Systems, 2021
A scheme to implement the Jerk form of the Chua system family using a controllable canonical form applied in linear systems is proposed. The main thought is that the nonlinear function with a single independent variable input can be superposed by a ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
