Multivariate relationship among pH, subcutaneous fat thickness, and color in bovine meat using canonical correlation analysis

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Ciencias Pecuarias, 2020
Background: pH, subcutaneous fat thickness (SFT), and color are fundamental variables to define the organoleptic characteristics of meat. However, multivariate relationships of those traits remain unexplored in bovine meat.

Canonical and micro-canonical typical entanglement of continuous variable systems

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2007
We present a framework, compliant with the general canonical principle of statistical mechanics, to define measures on the set of pure Gaussian states of continuous variable systems. Within such a framework, we define two specific measures, referred to as `micro-canonical' and `canonical', and apply them to study systematically the statistical ...

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Generalized canonical correlation analysis with missing values [PDF]

open access: yes
Two new methods for dealing with missing values in generalized canonicalcorrelation analysis are introduced. The first approach, which does notrequire iterations, is a generalization of the Test Equating method availablefor principal component analysis ...

Generalized canonical transformation for second-order Birkhoffian systems on time scales

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2019
The theory of time scales, which unifies continuous and discrete analysis, provides a powerful mathematical tool for the study of complex dynamic systems.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Canonical Variables for Multiphase Solutions of the KP Equation [PDF]

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, 2000
The KP equation has a large family of quasiperiodic multiphase solutions. These solutions can be expressed in terms of Riemann‐theta functions. In this paper, a finite‐dimensional canonical Hamiltonian system depending on a finite number of parameters is given for the description of each such solution.

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
