Living on the edge: Habitat characteristics of northern myotis at the periphery of its distribution
Northern myotis selected tall trees with minimal decay, in patches with other roosting options. In our study area, these trees occurred in narrow bands within an agricultural matrix, differing from contiguous forest at the core of the species' distribution. Nevertheless, bats selected the tallest trees in the densest patches available.

ABSTRACT Land degradation threatens agricultural and forestry economies by lowering productivity, raising input costs, and increasing risk. This study examines whether Internet of Things applications moderate these losses in 1321 mainland Chinese counties from 2011 to 2024. Land degradation is measured separately through vegetation trends, modeled soil

ABSTRACT Grassland degradation profoundly alters the structure and function of desert steppe ecosystems. However, the responses of herbaceous aboveground biomass (Herb‐AGB) to degradation across different plant community types and the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

ABSTRACT Deep‐rooted plantations are central to dryland ecological restoration, yet their long‐term cultivation drives widespread deep soil desiccation, threatening ecosystem sustainability. While artificial water replenishment is a key deep soil desiccation mitigation strategy, the depth‐dependent positional effect of stored water on eco‐hydrological ...
