A statistical raindrop canting angle model
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1982A mathematical model to predict accurately the mean and standard deviation of each drop-size canting angle, assuming Gaussian canting angle distributions, is presented. The model utilizes the one-dimensional energy spectrum of horizontal turbulence given by Davenport.

Measurements of raindrops sizes and canting angles
International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1989We have presented a convenient method of measurements in adjusting the parameters for distributions of raindrop sizes and obtaining canting angles to accommodate to the local geographic and meteorologic conditions to get the required data for calculation of AR and XPD in the system planning of a short ground link using millimeter wave band.

Direct method for measuring the canting angle of magnetization
Journal of Applied Physics, 2013We present a method to accurately determine the canting angle of magnetization in Co/Pt multilayers by utilizing magnetoresistance effects. In a current-in-plane geometry, the longitudinal voltage drop is determined as a function of the direction of an externally applied magnetic field.

The Application of Variable Cant Angle Winglets for Morphing Aircraft Control
24th AIAA Applied Aerodynamics Conference, 2006This paper investigates a novel method of control for ‘morphing’ aircraft. The concept consists of a pair of winglets with adaptive cant angle, independently actuated, mounted at the tips of a flying wing. Computations with a vortex lattice model and wind tunnel tests demonstrate the validity of the concept.

A New Slant on the Distribution and Measurement of Hydrometeor Canting Angles
Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, 1988Abstract Several models have been developed in the past to describe the distribution of hydrometeor canting angles and the resulting effects on polarimetric radar measurements. These models are reviewed to compare their characteristics and to assess their validity under specified conditions.

Effect of Fin Cant Angle on Coning Stability of an Unguided Artillery Rocket
31st International Symposium on Ballistics, 2019This paper presents the flight stability studies of an unguided artillery rocket with curved wrap-around fins. Due to asymmetry in the flow field around the fin, curved wrap-around fins unlike the planar fins exhibit special aerodynamic characteristics such as induced roll moment, roll reversal through supersonic Mach number, excessive side force and ...

Aeroelastic Stability Analysis of a Wing with a Variable Cant Angle Winglet
2020Currently, multiple air vehicles employ wing shape change to enhance their performance and achieve mission adaptability in different environments inside the Earth's atmosphere. This concept has been around since the dawn of aviation. In 1903, the Wright brothers implemented wing warping to control their aircraft during flight.

Computational Analysis of Blended Winglet Model Performance by Varying Cant Angle
Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, 2019This work focuses on structural modeling and analysis of aircraft winglet control surfaces. In aerodynamic engineering, reducing drag is an important challenge. To reduce drag a fin device that is placed vertically in the angle set in the wing of the plane.

Calculation of the canting angle dependence of the resistivity in Cu|Co spin valves
Journal of Applied Physics, 1997We consider the in-plane electrical conductivity of a spin valve, specifically, a system consisting of a copper slab between two cobalt slabs. We calculate the dependence of the resistivity on the canting angle, where the canting angle θ is defined as the angle between the magnetization vectors of two ferromagnetic slabs in a spin valve.
