Medial Rectus Fenestration versus Medial Rectus Recession in Treatment of Partially Accommodative Esotropia [PDF]

open access: yesZagazig University Medical Journal
Background: This study was conducted at the Ophthalmology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University to compare medial rectus (MR) muscle fenestration with MR muscle recession in treatment of partially accommodative esotropia. Methods: The study

Star-shaped Tilted Hexarotor Maneuverability: Analysis of the Role of the Tilt Cant Angles

open access: yes2024 IEEE 20th International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE)
Star-shaped Tilted Hexarotors are rapidly emerging for applications highly demanding in terms of robustness and maneuverability. To ensure improvement in such features, a careful selection of the tilt angles is mandatory. In this work, we present a rigorous analysis of how the force subspace varies with the tilt cant angles, namely the tilt angles ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Bis[1,2-bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)ethylene-1,2-dithiolato(1−)]nickel(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
The title compound, [Ni(C18H18S2)2], 1, crystallizes upon an inversion center in monoclinic P21/c with intraligand C—S and C—Cchelate bond lengths that are indicative of the radical monoanionic redox level for the dithiolene ligand.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

An analysis on Aerodynamics Performance Simulation of NACA 23018 Airfoil Wings on Cant Angles

open access: yesJournal of Energy, Mechanical, Material, and Manufacturing Engineering, 2017
Winglet attached on the tip of aircraft wings to increase lift. Mainly, winglet used for increasing aerodynamic efficiency, it decreases induced drag caused by vortex on wings tip. The phenomenon of vortex is collision of high-pressured air below the wings meet the low-pressured air above it that cause turbulence.

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Comparative assessment of crystallographic and cryo‐EM models in the Protein Data Bank

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Raw data obtained by X‐ray crystallography or cryo‐EM result in experimental maps, ultimately fitted by atomic models. Although the physical principles are different, the final results can be viewed, compared, and evaluated in the same way. With cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) on track to surpass X‐ray crystallography as the preferred method ...
