On G-transitive version of perfectly meager sets [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Moravica, 2020
We study the G-invariant version of perfectly meager sets (a generalization of the notion of AFC sets). We find the necessary and sufficient conditions for the inclusion AFC'G ⊆ I.

From Cantor To Christaller?

open access: yesQuaestiones Geographicae, 2015
It is possible that Georg Cantor and Walter Christaller may have been aware of one another during their careers, however, there is no indication the two collaborated.

Multifractality and intermittency in the solar wind [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2007
Within the complex dynamics of the solar wind's fluctuating plasma parameters, there is a detectable, hidden order described by a chaotic strange attractor which has a multifractal structure.

Local Fractional Variational Iteration and Decomposition Methods for Wave Equation on Cantor Sets within Local Fractional Operators

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
We perform a comparison between the fractional iteration and decomposition methods applied to the wave equation on Cantor set. The operators are taken in the local sense.

Genus of a Cantor Set

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 2005
A defining sequence for a Cantor set, \(X\), in 3-space, is a sequence of compact 3-manifolds, \((M_i)\) with boundary, each consisting of disjoint cubes with handles, \(M_{i+1}\subset\text{Int}\,M_i\) and \(X=\bigcap M_i\). If \(A\subset X\), \(g_A(X;(M_i))\) is the maximum genus of those components of the \(M_i\) which intersect \(A\).

The Ruler Sequence Revisited: A Dynamic Perspective

open access: yesMathematics
The Ruler function or the Gros sequence is a classical infinite integer sequence that underlies some interesting mathematical problems. In this paper, we provide four new problems containing this type of sequence: (i) demographic discrete dynamical ...

On the smallness of the (possible) singular set in space for 3D Navier-Stokes equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
We utilize $L^infty$ estimates on the complexified solutions of 3D Navier-Stokes equations via a plurisubharmonic measure type maximum principle to give a short proof of the fact that the Hausdorff dimension of the (possible) singular set in space is ...
