Understanding the Electric Double-Layer Structure, Capacitance, and Charging Dynamics.
Chemical Reviews, 2022Significant progress has been made in recent years in theoretical modeling of the electric double layer (EDL), a key concept in electrochemistry important for energy storage, electrocatalysis, and multitudes of other technological applications.

Determination of the theoretical capacitance of a concave capacitance sensor
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979The practical use of four concave capacitance plates for determining in situ volume fractions in two-phase pipelines has been amply demonstrated. In this letter, the system is analyzed theoretically using a microstrip technique and the results are compared with experimental data.

Inductance and Capacitance [PDF]
• Inductance is dominated by the size of the loop • Current density in conductor is a secondary effect (wire size) • Inductance is the key limiting factor to make current flow • Current always flows in lowest impedance • At low frequencies → lowest resistance • At high frequencies → lowest inductance • Switch from low to high frequency in KHz range ...

Abstract The capacitance of a simple metal modelled by jellium is studied in the presence of an applied static field. An explicitly non-linear calculation gives a differential capacitance that varies with the strength of the applied field in a way that closely resembles what has been measured for some free-electron-like metals in electrochemical ...

Capacitated selection problem [PDF]
Summary: Optimizing the selection of resources to accomplish a set of tasks involves evaluating the tradeoffs between the cost of maintaining the resources necessary to accomplish the tasks and the penalty cost associated with unfinished tasks. We consider the case where resources are categorized into types, and limits (capacity) are imposed on the ...

Capacitation of Rabbit Spermatozoa
Nature, 1958SUMMARY The capacity of rabbit spermatozoa to penetrate the zona pellucida of the ovum has been reported to depend upon pre-conditioning within the reproductive tract of the oestrous female. The present experiments show that spermatozoa can be capacitated in the uteri and uterine tubes of rabbits ovariectomized 1 month previously, in the ...
