A portable stray-immune capacitance meter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2002
Most existing portable capacitance meters are not stray-immune, i.e., their measurements are affected by stray capacitance between the measurement terminals and earth. Therefore, it is difficult to measure small capacitance, say less than 10 pF, using those meters.

Capacitive Moisture Meter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and Control Instrumentation, 1981
The paper deals with an instrument which has been developed for the measurement of moisture content in concrete and soil. A parallel-plate capacitor has been used as the sensing transducer. The instrument is compact, reliable, inexpensive, and gives consistent results over an extended life-testing period.

A Simple Digital Capacitance Meter

IETE Journal of Research, 1973
A digital method for measuring capacitance of a condenser using monostable multivibrator has been described. The value of the capacitance in pF is displayed digitally.

A capacitance-type displacement meter

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1968
A capacitance-type displacement meter has been developed. The instrument is very compact and light-weight, inexpensive to produce and easy to construct. The sensitivity of the instrument is satisfactory for most purposes served by these meters. The accuracy and stability of the instrument compare favourably with those of commerical meters.

RESONANCE-CAPACITANCE SOIL MOISTURE METER

Soil Science, 1970
IN DETERMINING SOIL MOISTURE CONTENT, THE METHOD THAT TREATS CAPACITANCE AS A FUNCTION OF MOISTURE CONTENT IS NONLINEAR, IS SUITABLE ONLY IN A NARROW RANGE OF LOW SOIL MOISTURE CONTENT, AND IS LESS PRECISE THAN ONE DESCRIBED IN THIS PAPER. AN EMPIRICAL EXPRESSION ORIGINALLY USED FOR POROUS BUILDING MATERIALS, IN WHICH THE PARAMETERS ARE MOISTURE ...

A Sensitive Capacitance Meter

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1948
The addition of a reactance valve to a crystal oscillator permits observations of capacitance changes of 1 part in 30,000. Possibilities of using the circuit as an input to an amplifier are also suggested.

A Transistorized Low Capacitance Meter

IETE Journal of Research, 1963
ABSTRACTFrequently the depletion layer capacitances of transistors and other semiconductor devices have to be measured under their operating conditions, prior to their incorporation in different circuits. This is necessitated because of the wide production spreads in this parameter.

A novel digital capacitance meter

International Journal of Electronics, 1989
Abstract A switched-battery digital capacitance meter based on the RC discharge is described, The meter parameters have very low sensitivity to variations in internal meter circuits. To reduce the initial condition error of the measurements, an automatic control technique of changing phase timing is used. The meter is used in applications where precise

Nonlinearity of transistor capacitive frequency meter

Measurement Techniques, 1969
The amplitudes of these voltages are sufficient to provide a complete saturation of the blocked transistors. Let transistor T~ become conducting and transistor T 2 become blocked at a certain instant. Then, capacitor Ci, which was previously charged to voItage g 0, wilt discharge through the conducting transistor T 6 capacitor C~ will be charged up to ...

Capacitive level meter for liquid hydrogen

Cryogenics, 2011
Abstract A capacitive level meter working at low temperatures was made to use in magnetic refrigerator for hydrogen liquefaction. The liquid level was measured from the capacitance between parallel electrodes immersed in the liquid. The meter was tested for liquid nitrogen, hydrogen, and helium.
