Capacitive sensor for respiration monitoring
2015 IEEE Sensors Applications Symposium (SAS), 2015Respiration monitoring of patients with chronic diseases, children, elderly, or sportsmen can be a useful tool in health condition assessment, early diagnosis of various diseases, and real-time prediction of possibly dangerous health conditions. In this paper we present a low-cost solution of respiration monitoring system, based on a custom designed ...

2009 32nd International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology, 2009
This paper is focused on a cavity in LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics), which is one of the methods used for creation of pressure sensor. The mechanical part is 3D structure in which there are integrated electrodes created by TFT (Thick Film Technology). One of them is fixed and the other one is on the deformation element.

Determination of the theoretical capacitance of a concave capacitance sensor
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979The practical use of four concave capacitance plates for determining in situ volume fractions in two-phase pipelines has been amply demonstrated. In this letter, the system is analyzed theoretically using a microstrip technique and the results are compared with experimental data.

An accurate interface for capacitive sensors
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2002A new smart interface based on a first-order charge-balanced SC-oscillator is presented for capacitive sensors, which are shunted by a parasitic conductance. In the novel interface, the effect of shunting conductance is reduced by using the charge/discharge method.

A Smart Capacitive Angle Sensor
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2005This paper presents a smart capacitive angle sensor suited for automotive and industrial use. To comply with tough constraints of such applications in terms of environmental conditions, unit costs, and physical size, a fully integrated solution is mandatory.

Capacitive Angular-Position Sensor
2007This paper describes the design, realization and experimental characterization of a capacitive angular position sensor. The sensor is composed of two parts, namely the sensing element and the dedicated signal conditioning electronic circuit. The sensor is based on a low-cost Printed Circuit Board technology for the electrodes, and the use of a thick ...
