Elastomeric capacitive sensors

2011 16th International Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems Conference, 2011
Elastomers are emerging as an alternative to inorganic materials for electromechanical transducers. The rubber-like polymers are characterized by high elasticity (their equivalent elastic modulus is typically 2 orders of magnitude lower than that of silicon) and high yield strain (>100%).

The capacitive sensor

2009 32nd International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology, 2009
This paper is focused on a cavity in LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics), which is one of the methods used for creation of pressure sensor. The mechanical part is 3D structure in which there are integrated electrodes created by TFT (Thick Film Technology). One of them is fixed and the other one is on the deformation element.

Capacitance Humidity Sensor

MRS Proceedings, 1995
ABSTRACTA capacitance relative humidity (RH) sensor is described that has a design, construction, and material composition that result in an inexpensive and robust sensor. This sensor has a multilayer, free-standing film construction. It consists of a humidity sensitive polyimide (PI) dielectric core and conductive layers consisting of carbon filled ...

Capacitive Grain Moisture Sensor

2020 Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications Conference (ASYU), 2020
Determining the moisture content of grain products is very important for the quality, yield and cost of the production line. For this purpose, in-line or off-line, destructive or non-destructive measurement methods are widely used. In this study, an in-line, non-destructive capacitive humidity sensor is designed using analog switching based synchronous

Capacitive Angular-Position Sensor

2007
This paper describes the design, realization and experimental characterization of a capacitive angular position sensor. The sensor is composed of two parts, namely the sensing element and the dedicated signal conditioning electronic circuit. The sensor is based on a low-cost Printed Circuit Board technology for the electrodes, and the use of a thick ...

Capacitive sensor for respiration monitoring

2015 IEEE Sensors Applications Symposium (SAS), 2015
Respiration monitoring of patients with chronic diseases, children, elderly, or sportsmen can be a useful tool in health condition assessment, early diagnosis of various diseases, and real-time prediction of possibly dangerous health conditions. In this paper we present a low-cost solution of respiration monitoring system, based on a custom designed ...

Unique and Unclonable Capacitive Sensors

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2018
Inspired from nature, a new concept called 'sensors with unique and unclonable characteristic', has been developed. Such sensors respond to a measurand and provide a unique output. Random variations in the structure of the sensors are responsible for these unique characteristic.

Capacitance sensor for microimaging

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
The ultimate aim of the work described here is to explore miniaturised electrical tomography systems. The initial target, described in this paper, has been to implement a sensor, integrated on silicon, and able to detect particles as small as 10 pm in diameter from changes in capacitance.

3D printed capacitive sensors

2013 IEEE SENSORS, 2013
Recent advances in the field of 3D printing have utilized embedded electronic interconnects in order to construct advanced electronic devices. This work builds on these advances in order to construct and characterize arbitrarily formed capacitive sensors using fine-pitch copper mesh and embedded copper wires.
