Customizable Fabrication of 2D and Conformal Multielectrode Arrays for 3D Printed Organotypic Bioelectronic Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aerosol jet printing enables rapid, customizable fabrication of flexible, fully gold multi‐electrode arrays (MEAs) for organotypic bioelectronic interfaces. The printed MEAs exhibit stable electrochemical performance, cytocompatibility, and functionality in recording and stimulation, including integration with 3D‐printed constructs.

Local Maximum Capacitance at Nonzero Lift-Off for Underwater Capacitive Sensing

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Letters
Despite the popularity of capacitive sensors, limited research exists on their behavior underwater, which can be significantly different than those in air. This paper aims to address this gap by exploring the relationship between capacitance and liftoff distances.

Magneto-inductive skin sensor for robot collision avoidance: A new development [PDF]

open access: yes
Safety is a primary concern for robots operating in space. The tri-mode sensor addresses that concern by employing a collision avoidance/management skin around the robot arms.

Capacitative calcium entry: sensing the calcium stores.

open access: yesThe Journal of cell biology, 2005
A long-standing mystery in the cell biology of calcium channel regulation is the nature of the signal linking intracellular calcium stores to plasma membrane capacitative calcium entry channels. An RNAi-based screen of selected Drosophila genes has revealed that a calcium-binding protein, stromal interaction molecule (STIM), plays an essential role in ...

Plasma‐Polymerized Nanoparticles Presenting Fibrillin‐1 Drive Rapid Re‐Endothelialization of Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Commercial vascular grafts are made from ePTFE, a highly hydrophobic, foreign material that fails at a high rate in small‐diameter applications. Plasma polymer nanoparticles (PPN) are a versatile material functionalisation tool, used here to present fibrillin‐1 fragment PF8 on the graft surface.
