Bio‐Inspired Artificial Ionic Mechanoreceptor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A skin‐inspired artificial mechanoreceptor based on ionic interactions is presented for biomimetic tactile sensing. Pressure‐driven ionic redistribution within microfluidic channels generates a self‐powered electrical signal without external bias. The generated waveform exhibits mechanoreceptor‐like temporal features, including overshoot and undershoot,

Partial discharge on-line monitoring for HV cable systems using electro-optic modulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A technique for the remote inspection and monitoring of partial discharge (PD) activity using an optical network is described. The network uses a LiNbO3 modulator to modulate the intensity of the transmitted laser light approximately proportional to the ...

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Design of instantaneous liquid film thickness measurement system for conductive or non-conductive fluid with high viscosity

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
In the paper, a new capacitive sensor with a dielectric film coating was designed to measure the thickness of the liquid film on a flat surface. The measured medium can be conductive or non-conductive fluid with high viscosity such as silicone oil, syrup,
