Capacitive in-sensor tactile computing

open access: yesNature Communications
Abstract Real-time sensing and processing of tactile information are essential to enhance the capability of artificial electronic skins (e-skins), enabling unprecedented intelligent applications in tactile exploration and object manipulation. However, conventional tactile e-skin systems typically execute redundant data transfer and conversion

Capacitive Soot Sensor

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
AbstractA capacitive soot sensor was built up on basis of a known resistive device by covering the electrode area with a thin but dense alumina layer manufactured by the aerosol-deposition-method (ADM). Deposited soot cannot short-circuit the electrodes but leads to an increasing capacitance of the sensor.

Capacitance‐to‐digital converter for leaky capacitive sensors

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
A novel capacitance‐to‐digital converter (CDC) that performs an accurate measurement of the capacitance of a leaky capacitive sensor is presented. The conversion technique of this CDC is novel, which helps to achieve the highest interference rejection compared with the exiting CDC topologies.
