Submodule capacitor voltage balancing control of hybrid MMC under over-modulation based on dynamic arm reference voltage allocation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The hybrid modular multilevel converter (MMC) may experience an inter-group capacitor voltage imbalance between full-bridge submodule (FBSM) and half-bridge submodule (HBSM) groups during over-modulation operation. To address this issue, this paper first

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Capacitor Voltage Balancing Control for Flying Capacitor Multilevel Inverter

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2014
This paper presents a control scheme for full bridge flying capacitor inverter to achieve balancing voltages on inverter capacitors. It examines the effects on the output voltage inverter, and then it realizes two control schemes that will balance the voltages. The simulations of control schemes were performed in OrCAD Pspice.
