SOC Balancing Control Strategy for Multiple Storage Units Based on Battery Life Degradation Characteristics

open access: yesEnergies
To resolve the issue of state of charge (SOC) inconsistency among energy storage units under traditional equal-power allocation strategies, this paper proposes a multi-unit SOC balancing control strategy based on battery life degradation characteristics.

The relationship between capacity and utilization of nonpharmacologic therapies in the US Military Health System

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2022
Background Nonpharmacologic therapies (NPTs) are recommended as first-line treatments for pain, however the impact of expanding professional capacity to deliver these therapies on use has not been extensively studied.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Firm Heterogeneity, Capacity Utilization, and the Business Cycle

open access: yesReview of Economic Dynamics, 1999
In a stochastic dynamic general equilibrium framework, we introduce the concept of capacity utilization (as opposed to capital utilization). We consider an economy where monopolistic firms use a putty-clay technology and decide on their productive capacity and technology under uncertainty.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

PENGUKURAN NAICU PADA SEKTOR INDUSTRI PENGOLAHAN BERDASARKAN DUAL COST CAPACITY UTILIZATION

open access: yesBuletin Ekonomi Moneter dan Perbankan, 2007
Following the study on the measurement of capacity utilization of manufacturing industries in Indonesia (Tjahjono, Husman, and Sianipar (2005)), this paper estimates the level of NAICU, Non-Accelerating Inflation rate of Capacity Utilization.

The (Normal) Rate of Capacity Utilization at the Firm Level [PDF]

open access: yesMetroeconomica, 2012
AbstractThis paper examines the endogeneity (or lack thereof) of the rate of capacity utilization in the long run at the firm level. The cost minimizing firm has an incentive to increase the utilization of its capital if the rate of the returns to scale decreases as its production increases. The theory of production provides justification for this kind

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

"Measuring Capacity Utilization in OECD Countries: A Cointegration Method" [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper derives measures of potential output and capacity utilization for a number of OECD countries, using a method based on the cointegration relation between output and the capital stock.

Capital utilization: maintenance costs and the business cycle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
In this paper we analyze the role played by capacity utilization and maintenance costs in the propagation of aggregate fluctuations. To this purpose we use an extension of the general equilibrium stochastic growth model that incorporates a depreciation ...
