Capillaria Zeder, 1800 Generic diagnosis (after Moravec 2001). Capillariidae. Stichosome comprises one row of stichocytes. Lateral caudal alae absent from males. Posterior end of male rounded, usually with two lateral or ventro-lateral lobes. Membranous bursa absent. One pair of small papillae near cloacal opening.

PARASITISM BY CAPILLARIA HEPATICA

A case of genuine infection with Capillaria hepatica in a child is presented. This is the eighth case to be reported, the fourth to be diagnosed by liver biopsy, and the second case in which the patient is still living. The literature dealing with the subject is reviewed with a brief summary of the cases on record.

Abstract Influences of Capillaria obsignata infection on serum constitution of two species of birds, were analysed both by Kjeldahl technique and electrophoresis. Regardless of the number of mature parasites, these animals showed remarkable blood protein fluctuations.
