On the Dynamic Contact Angle in Capillary Flows [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2021
The displacement of the contact line (CL) between two arbitrary immiscible flowing fluids was modeled. The present model is valid for a wide range of viscosity ratios of the phases. This is while the previously developed models reported in the literature

The numerical simulation study on the dynamic variation of residual oil with water drive velocity in water flooding reservoir

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
The results of core displacement experiments show that increasing the water drive velocity when it is bigger than the limit value can effectively reduce the residual oil saturation and improve the oil displacement efficiency under the same PV.

Study on liquid film formed with liquid column oscillation in pulsating heat pipe (Measurement of liquid film thickness using forced oscillation system)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
In order to gain a better understanding of the latent heat transfer mechanism in pulsating heat pipes (PHPs), this study experimentally investigated the thickness characteristics of a liquid film that forms during oscillations of the liquid column within

Effect of Capillary Number on the Residual Saturation of Colloidal Dispersions Stabilized by a Zwitterionic Surfactant

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
We investigated oil recovery from porous rock using nanoscale colloidal dispersions, formed by adsorption of an anionic polymer [poly-(4styrenesulfonic acid-co-maleic acid); PSS-co-MA] and a zwitterionic surfactant [N-tetradecyl-N, N-dimethyl-3-ammonio-1-

Pore-Scale Numerical Simulation of CO2–Oil Two-Phase Flow: A Multiple-Parameter Analysis Based on Phase-Field Method

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
A deep understanding of the pore-scale fluid flow mechanism during the CO2 flooding process is essential to enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and subsurface CO2 sequestration. Two-phase flow simulations were performed to simulate the CO2 flooding process based
