Evaluation of Retinal Capillary Permeability

Archives of Surgery, 1985
To the Editor .—We would like to express a word of caution regarding the use of the XANAR vitreous fluorophotometer 1 in the evaluation of retinal capillary permeability. Although our initial data recovered from this experimental model were found to be statistically significant, 1,2 further investigations at our institution did not reveal such ...

Permeability characteristics of colonic capillaries

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1980
Blood flow, lymph flow, lymph protein concentration (CL), lymph oncotic pressure, plasma protein concentration (CP), and plasma oncotic pressure were determined under steady-state conditions at venous pressures of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 mmHg in autoperfused segments of dog colon.

High capillary permeability in fishes

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1974
Abstract 1. 1. Protein concentration in extravascular fluid is almost equal to plasma protein concentration in cod ( Gadus morhua ) and flounder ( Pleuronectes platessa ). 2. 2. The high extravascular protein concentration in fishes suggests a high capillary permeability to proteins, and thus, the effective colloid osmotic pressure across the

Capillary Permeability in Adipose Tissue

Acta Physiologica Scandinavica, 1976
AbstractA method for measurement of capillary permeability using external registration of gamma emitting isotopes after close arterial bolus injection was applied to the isolated inguinal fat pad in slightly fasting rabbits. An average extraction of 26 per cent for51Cr‐EDTA was found at a plasma flow of about 7 ml/100 g. min.

Lung Capillary Permeability

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1971
A method has been developed for detection of altered lung capillary permeability and epithelial cell damage by low levels of nitrogen dioxide. Leakage of tritiated serum, injected intravenously before or at intervals after NO 2 exposure, was detected by scintillation counting of dialyzed pulmonary lavage fluid.
