A model for capillary rise in micro-tube restrained by a sticky layer
Fluid transport in a microscopic capillary under the effects of a sticky layer was theoretically investigated. A model based on the classical Lucas-Washburn (LW) model is proposed for the meniscus rise with the sticky layer present.

This article investigates the dependence of the properties on the manufacturing orientation in the form of the inclination angle to the build plate of LPBF‐fabricated NiTi rods with a diameter of 150–220 µm. Metallographic, chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization show behavior under identical manufacturing conditions that ranges from ...

Self‐Cleaning Sensor Surfaces for Long‐Term Environmental Monitoring
Long‐term use of unattended outdoor sensors without soiling or biofouling is achieved through generation of a micro‐ and nanorough cuvette surface by combing hydrophobic nanoparticles with fluorinated polymers, crosslinked and surface‐attached through CHic chemistry. The coating demonstrates self‐cleaning behavior and prolonged outdoor stability, which

New opportunities for diagnosis of periodontal capillary pressure
Developed and tested a device for determining periodontal capillary pressure. It is proved that the periodontal capillary pressure has multidirectional changes depending on the type of pathology: the gingival recession in conjunction with malocclusions ...

Water saturation characteristics of coal of different ranks and its effect on capillary pressure
Saturation characteristics of water and capillary pressure are important for hydrofracturing or water flooding, which is widely adopted in dust suppression, methane displacement, and gas and coal outburst elimination.

Entropy‐Driven Design of Low‐Melting‐Point Alloys via Compositionally Complex Strategy
Conventional low‐melting‐point alloys (LMPAs) are limited by a narrow compositional space and inherent property trade‐offs. This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).

Fabrication Routes for Ionic Conducting Fiber Strain Sensors
Ionic conducting fiber strain sensors (ICFSs) offer compliant, textile‐integrable sensing. Thus far, the commercialization of ICFSs has been constrained by fiber fabrication routes. This review provides a fabrication‐centric analysis of ICFSs correlating processing strategies with material properties and scalability.

Numerical Research on Characteristic of Pressure-driven Gas Flow in Capillary
The transport and retention of aerosols in the containment gap are closely related to the gas flow in the cracks. In order to evaluate the aerosol retention efficiency in the cracks after an accident by the existing aerosol penetration coefficient ...
