Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Novel Functional Materials via 3D Printing by Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective systematically analyzes strategies for incorporating functionalities into 3D‐printed materials via Vat Photopolymerization (VP). It explores the spectrum of achievable functionalities in recently reported novel materials—such as conductive, energy‐storing, biodegradable, stimuli‐responsive, self‐healing, shape‐memory, biomaterials, and

Stochastic labour market shocks, labour market programmes, and human capital formation: a theoretical and empirical analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a life-cycle model of labour supply that captures endogenous human capital formation allowing for individual’s heterogeneous responses to stochastic labour market shocks.

Human capital in economic development: from labour productivity to macroeconomic impact [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Micro-econometric evidence reveals high private returns to education, most prominently in low-income countries. However, it is disputed to what extent this translates into a macro-economic impact.

Triblock Polymer Engineering Enables Hydration‐Rich, High‐Performance, Fouling‐Resistant Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A molecularly engineered triblock polymer (PHZ) rapidly reorganizes into a hydration‐rich interfacial layer on diverse surfaces, strongly suppressing hydrophobic attraction and fouling. The triblock polymer provides robust energy and steric barriers to oily foulants, enabling high‐performance antifouling at ultralow dosage.

Interfacial Bioengineering of Dynamic Networks Hybrid Hydrogel for Programmed Intervention in Oral Precancerous Epithelial States

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a dual‐bioinspired hydrogel, MSA@PGel (macrophage membrane‐coated and salvianolic acid B/5‐aminolevulinic acid co‐loaded liposomes embedded in a polydopamine‐based gel), that integrates macrophage membrane‐mediated active targeting and mussel‐inspired wet adhesion for programmed intervention in oral precancerous lesions.

The Possibilities to Estimate Labour Productivity and Total Factor Productivity for Czech Regions [PDF]

open access: yesStatistika: Statistics and Economy Journal, 2011
Productivity measuring is a popular part of economic and statistical analysis of a country. The simplest productivity measure is based on labour productivity.

Labour conflict and the persistence of macro underemployment in South Africa

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, 2010
Something must be structurally wrong in a labour market when a well developed economy like that of South Africa is not able to absorb and allocate an accumulating surplus of labour over a period of 20 years or longer but has instead  moved to the use of ...

Nb2C‐Reinforced Hydrogel Microneedle as Dual ROS‐Scavenging Platform to Promote Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An advanced microneedle patch integrating niobium carbide nanosheets and curcumin is engineered for diabetic wound healing. The system enables dual ROS scavenging and NIR‐enhanced antimicrobial activity, effectively rebalancing the oxidative microenvironment, promoting macrophage repolarization and angiogenesis, and accelerating full‐thickness wound ...
