Advancements in CO2 Capture Technologies: A Review of Amine Absorption and Alternative Methods for Post‐Combustion Integration

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carbon capture technologies are poised to become one of the primary focuses regarding the achievement of net‐zero emissions by the year 2050. In these technologies, particular attention is given to post‐combustion CO2 capture, which is more easily implemented at existing power stations and other industries.

Design and Optimization of a Double‐Column Vapor Recompression Heat Pump Distillation Process via NSGA‐II for Separating Ternary Wide‐Boiling Mixtures

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel double‐column vapor recompression heat pump (DCVRHP) distillation process for separating ternary wide‐boiling‐range mixtures under two different vapor conditions: n‐hexane/n‐heptane/n‐octane using low pressure steam and n‐hexanol/n‐octanol/n‐decanol using high pressure steam.

Sustainable Manufacturing Platforms for Closed‐Cycle Bioeconomy Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transition to a circular bioeconomy requires innovative production platforms that prioritize sustainability, resource efficiency, and waste minimization. Organic waste from agriculture, aquaculture, and food production represents an underutilized feedstock for biomanufacturing, contributing to a circular economy.

Performance Assessment and Lab‐Scale Economic Evaluation of Alkaline Extraction and Comparative Precipitation of Cyanobacterial Proteins

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Algal proteins from cyanobacteria serve as a natural source of biopolymers. The principal challenge manifests as nonoptimization of unit operations in downstream process accounting for higher costs. This study focuses on process assessment of unit‐operations for selecting suitable recovery strategies not only based on yield, but also considers

Synergistic Effect on Enhanced Oil Recovery in High Salinity Carbonate Reservoirs Using a Novel PEI‐Functionalized Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposite

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Enhancing oil recovery (EOR) in mature reservoirs is hindered by high interfacial tension (IFT) and oil‐wet rock formations, especially under harsh, high‐salinity conditions. This study aims to overcome these limitations by synthesizing a novel carbon nanotube nanocomposite covalently grafted with polyethylenimine and non‐covalently ...

Wood Sawdust as a Low‐Cost Filler in Whole‐Tire Reclaimed Rubber: Mechanical Characterization and Factory‐Scale Cost Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐tire reclaimed rubber is upgraded with wood sawdust, a carpentry by‐product available at no cost, across loadings from 0 to 20 wt%. At 5 wt%, tensile strength, elongation, hardness, viscosity, and water absorption all stay within commercial specification, and real factory data show an annual production saving near $62,000 with no capital ...
