Economists, however, have almost universally defined capital in a way that makes it impossible for them to analyse important practical and societal aspects ...

Firm turnover under asymmetric information: Tanzania's agro‐dealer sector
Abstract We study firm turnover (i.e., entry and exit) and its consumer implications in a market characterized by asymmetric information. Using a three‐round census of agro‐dealers in Tanzania's Morogoro Region, we document annual firm entry and exit rates of 33% and 17%, respectively.

Modular and Stereoselective Synthesis of Cyclobutane β‐Amino Alcohols
Late‐stage functionalization and photoisomerization of 1,2‐azaborine leads to a general strategy for the synthesis of diversely substituted cyclobutane β‐amino alcohols. The relative stereochemistry of the resulting products is unambiguously defined by the stereospecific and stereoselective nature of the photoisomerization‐hydrogenation‐oxidation ...

Direct Access to Chiral Piperidines by Enantioselective HAT‐Initiated C(sp3)─H Oxidation
The direct desymmetrization of piperidines is achieved through manganese‐catalyzed enantioselective α‐C(sp3)─H oxidation with hydrogen peroxide, affording versatile chiral N,O‐acetals in good yields and with high enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity. These intermediates provide access to diverse functionalized piperidines with retention of chirality ...
