Heterogeneity of iridoid biosynthesis in catmints: Molecular background in a phylogenetic context
Evolutionary gains and losses of key biosynthetic genes likely resulting from multiple independent evolutionary events explain why certain Nepeta (catnip) species produce both the active, cat‐attracting nepetalactones and sugar‐bound iridoids, while others make only the sugar‐bound forms, and some have lost iridoid production entirely.

Benthic fauna dynamics following large‐scale seagrass restoration in an exposed environment
Seagrass meadows are vital habitats, modifying hydrodynamic energy flows and sustaining biodiversity in the benthic environment. As such, there is a growing interest in using seagrass as a nature‐based solution for coastal adaptation. However, planting seagrass in hydrodynamically exposed environments is challenging, and the trajectories and timescales

The frequency and importance of polyploidy in tropical rainforest tree radiations
Summary The presence of more than two copies of the genome in an organism, termed ‘polyploidy’, is a crucial force in plant evolution, generating genetic, phenotypic and ecological diversity. [Correction added on 22 January 2026, after first online publication: the preceding sentence has been corrected.] The Amazonian tree flora is the most species ...

The Host Coral Bleaching Response Viewed Through the Lens of Multi‐Omics
Coral bleaching is driven by multiple inputs, with heat stress and/or high irradiance being most important. The bleaching response is multifactorial with host animal species/strain and algal symbiont genotypes being critical features. Omics readout of heat stress responses includes gene expression, proteomics, metabolite, and SNP data with transcript ...

Toward an art of genomic selection in vegetable breeding
Abstract Genomic selection (GS) is a powerful strategy for accelerating genetic gain in plant breeding. While in recent years GS has been widely adopted in breeding programs for agronomic crops, its implementation in vegetable breeding has been comparatively limited.
