Capra hircus, the domestic goat
Domestic goats are by definition found in association with humans. They can be kept at much more barren and cold environments than sheep. Goats are principally browsers, contrarily to sheep, which are grazers. One of the earliest goat sculptures dates back to the second century B.C.E. in the form of a decorative relief.
