Zinc oxide and selenium nanoparticles can improve semen quality and heat shock protein expression in cryopreserved goat (Capra hircus) spermatozoa.

Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, 2023
BACKGROUND Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are strongly linked with oxidative stress (OS) generated during the process of sperm cryopreservation. Indeed, cellular damage from ROS has been implicated during sperm cryopreservation which causes deterioration ...

Identification of selection signatures in Capra hircus and Capra aegagrus in Iran.

Animal science journal = Nihon chikusan Gakkaiho, 2023
Identification of selection signatures may provide a better understanding of domestication process and candidate genes contributing to this process. In this study, two populations of domestic and wild goats from Iran were analyzed to identify selection ...

Validation of double freezing protocol for Beetal buck (Capra hircus) spermatozoa.

Reproduction in domestic animals = Zuchthygiene, 2022
The study aimed to validate the double versus single freezing protocol for Beetal buck (Capra hircus) spermatozoa in tris-citric acid (TCA) based extender both in terms of quality and fertilization potential. Computer-assisted sperm motion and kinematic (

Association between the copy number variation of CCSER1 gene and growth traits in Chinese Capra hircus (goat) populations

Animal Biotechnology, 2022
Recently, Coiled-coil serine-rich protein 1 (CCSER1) gene is reported to be related to economic traits in livestock, and become a hotspot. In our study, we detected CCSER1 gene CNV in 693 goats from six breeds (GZB, GZW, AN, BH, HG, TH) by quantitative ...

Molecular characterization and antimicrobial susceptibility of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis isolated from skin abscesses of native Korean goats (Capra hircus coreanae)

Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2022
This study aimed to investigate the molecular characterization and antimicrobial susceptibility of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis from skin abscesses of Korean native black goats (KNBG, Capra hircus coreanae) in South Korea.

A comparative analysis of sphenoid bone between domestic sheep (ovis aries) and goat (capra hircus) using geometric morphometrics

Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia. Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series C, 2021
The sphenoid bone forms the rostral part of the base of the neurocranium and is composed of two segments, the presphenoid [os praesphenoidale] and the basisphenoid [os basisphenoidale].

Capra hircus SNP

2023
We sequenced the whole genome of 20 Guanzhong dairy goats, including 10 high milk yield (HM) dairy goats and 10 low milk yield (LM) dairy goats. And we derived 21,324,600 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) across the 20 samples. We convert VCF files into PLINK files. The total genotyping rate is 0.987994. A total of 21324600 variants and 20 samples
