Low speed dynamic tests on a capsule configuration
Aerospace Science and Technology, 2000Abstract An experimental program supported by the Italian Space Agency was started at Politecnico di Torino. Static and oscillatory data were collected for a reference model of the Apollo Command Module configuration. The experimental results are presented here and the stability of the equivalent real capsule is also discussed.

Dynamic changes of Elschnig pearls posterior capsule opacification
BMJ Case Reports, 2022An adolescent female with underlying bilateral pseudophakia and idiopathic intermediate uveitis had reduced visual acuity due to posterior capsule opacification (PCO). The rapid progression and different morphological formations of Elschnig pearls were not influenced by the uveitis and immunosuppressive treatment.

Dynamic simulation of the motion of capsules in pipelines
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1995In this paper we report results of two-dimensional simulations of the motion of elliptic capsules carried by a Poiseuille flow in a channel. The numerical method allows computation of the capsule motion and the fluid flow around the capsule, and accurate evaluation of the lift force and torque. Results show that the motion of a capsule which is heavier

Dynamic Simulations of Atmospheric-Entry Capsules
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 2009Viscous free-oscillation simulations with theOVERFLOW solver are used to predict the aerodynamic behavior of nonlifting capsule shapes in the supersonic-speed regime. Computations using hybrid Reynolds-averaged Navier– Stokes turbulence models are examined for two novel atmospheric-entry capsule configurations: an idealized inflatable decelerator ...

Capsule Dynamic Network-Based Object Detection Algorithm
2019 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI), 2019In traditional convolution neural networks, the convolution pooling unit lacks the ability to process geometric transformations, which results in the loss of spatial hierarchical information of features. However, this information is very helpful to the expression of content. When detecting objects with spatial location information, the extracted object

Dynamic rheology of capsule suspension
2011Three-dimensional numerical simulations using immersed-boundary methods are performed to study the rheology of capsule suspensions. Two well-known dynamics of the capsules are the tank-treading and tumbling motions. The motivation of the thesis is twofold: first, to study the micro-macro link between the individual cell dynamics and the rheology of the

Adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder joint: usefulness of dynamic sonography
Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 1993We studied the value of dynamic sonography in adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder joint in patients with clinically suspected frozen shoulder. The sonographic criterion of adhesive capsulitis was continuous limitation of the sliding movement of the supraspinatus tendon against the acromion of the scapula. Arthrography was regarded as a gold standard in

Dynamic Bone Studies of the Labyrinthine Capsule in Relation to Otosclerosis
2007The pathological perilabyrinthine bone remodelling of otosclerosis is associated with a genetic predisposition and triggered by mechanisms so far unknown. A proposed viral aetiology of otosclerosis originates from a similar concept of Paget's disease. However, at present, it is not clear why a virus should cause otosclerosis, confined to the bony otic ...

Solvent-filled matrix polyelectrolyte capsules: preparation, structure and dynamics
Soft Matter, 2007Stable surfactant-free, water-dispersed, micron-sized organic solvent colloids have been a challenging subject of major interest both experimentally and theoretically in recent years. In this article, novel matrix capsules are introduced to carry an organic solvent ( toluene) into water and form a stable solvent dispersion in the aqueous phase without ...

[Cytology of the dynamics of capsule formation in yeasts].
Mikrobiologiia, 1982Changes in the dimensions and structure of capsules were examined using optical and electron microscopy in the yeast Cryptococcus magnus producing extracellular polysaccharides in the course of its batch cultivation. The mean thickness of capsules was minimal in the period of active budding, but is rapidly increased later on. The dimensions of capsules,
