WS2 Optoelectronic Memristive Reservoir Enabling Ultra‐Low‐Power, Multi‐Task, and Environmentally Stable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
WS2‐based in‐memory sensing reservoir computing integrates sensing, memory, and computation in one compact device. It achieves ∼94% N‐MNIST, ∼93% eye motion perception, and ∼89% speech recognition with ultra‐low energy (∼25.5 fJ/spike). The system shows stability at 95% humidity, endurance over 1.5M cycles, and supports synaptic plasticity, enabling ...

Wireless, Adaptable and Fully Implantable Battery‐powered Devices for Optical Stimulation of the Spinal Cord in Small Rodents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current technologies for spinal cord optogenetic stimulation rely on external power sources and face reliability constraints in freely behaving animals. Here, a fully implantable, battery‐powered optoelectronic device is introduced, enabling operation in any selected environment with wireless recharging for months‐long stimulation.

A Crack‐Based One‐Dimensional Microspheres Array Enables Thermal–Mechanical Decoupled Dual‐Functional Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by Nostoc, a crack‐based one‐dimensional microspheres array (COMA) sensor is developed, which stabilizes crack geometry under isotropic expansion, enabling a predictable, monotonic thermal response from which true strain can be accurately extracted. The COMA sensor exhibits high sensitivity at ultralow deformation (gauge factor up to 89) and a

Personality Recognition in Conversations using Capsule Neural Networks

IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence, 2019
Automatic identification of personality in conversations has many applications in natural language processing, such as community role identification (e.g., group leader) in online social media conversations as well as meeting transcripts. Conversation utterances provide a lot of information about the parties involved in a conversation such as cues to ...

Parallel Capsule Neural Networks for Sound Event Detection

2019 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC), 2019
In this work, we propose a sound event detection system based on a parallel capsule neural network. The system takes advantage of the capability of capsule neural networks in the detection of overlapping objects. It further develops a parallel architecture and uses the kernel design of different shapes and sizes to effectively utilize the feature ...
