Attention routing between capsules [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper, we propose a new capsule network architecture called Attention Routing CapsuleNet (AR CapsNet). We replace the dynamic routing and squash activation function of the capsule network with dynamic routing (CapsuleNet) with the attention routing and capsule activation.

Large‐Scale Interlaboratory Study Along the Entire Process Chain of Laser Powder Bed Fusion: Bridging Variability, Standards, and Optimization across Metals and Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
What happens when 32 labs join forces to study nanoparticle‐modified powders? A data‐driven journey through laser powder bed fusion—now openly accessible for the entire additive manufacturing community—is studied. Laser powder bed fusion is a cornerstone technology for additive manufacturing (AM) of metals and polymers, yet challenges in achieving ...

High‐Resolution Reverse Offset Printed Electroluminescent Multipixel Arrays for Scalable Future Wearable Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the effects of pixel size and spacing when fabricating electroluminescent (EL) multipixel displays. COMSOL simulations identify the impact of pixel dimensions and spacing on electric field distribution and lighting efficiency. Flexible, high‐resolution EL pixel arrays are reverse offset printed, achieving a 96% reduction in pixel ...

Capsules and Closures

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2011
AbstractCapsules are a clean representation of the state of a computation in higher-order programming languages with effects. Their intent is to simplify and replace the notion of closure. They naturally provide support for functional and imperative features, including recursion and mutable bindings, and ensure lexical scoping without the use of ...

Reactive Interaction and Wetting of Fe‐ and Mn‐Containing, Secondary AlSi Alloys with Manganese Oxide Ceramic Filter Material for Fe Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Fe‐ and Mn‐containing AlSi alloys undergo aluminothermic reaction with Mn oxide in sessile‐drop and crucible experiments forming poor‐wetting Al2O3 while Mn enriches in the alloy. Primary Fe‐containing particles are preferentially attached to the Mn oxide.

Mamba Capsule Routing Towards Part-Whole Relational Camouflaged Object Detection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The part-whole relational property endowed by Capsule Networks (CapsNets) has been known successful for camouflaged object detection due to its segmentation integrity. However, the previous Expectation Maximization (EM) capsule routing algorithm with heavy computation and large parameters obstructs this trend. The primary attribution behind lies in the

CapProNet: Deep Feature Learning via Orthogonal Projections onto Capsule Subspaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper, we formalize the idea behind capsule nets of using a capsule vector rather than a neuron activation to predict the label of samples. To this end, we propose to learn a group of capsule subspaces onto which an input feature vector is projected.

Research rocket test RR-1 (Black Brant VC) and RR-2 (Aerobee 170A): Investigations of the stability of bubbles in plain and fiber-reinforced metal and solidified in a near-zero-g environment [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of the first two of a series of research rocket flights are presented. The objectives of these flights were (1) to learn about the capabilities of these rockets, (2) to learn how to interface the payloads and rockets, and (3) to process some ...

Key Trends and Insights in Smart Polymeric Skin Wearable Patches

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent polymers, which respond to various physical and biological stimuli, are explored for the development of skin wearable patches in biomedical applications. Smart polymers, also known as intelligent or stimuli‐responsive polymers, play a crucial role in the development of advanced wearable patches due to their versatility and softness.
