Central Nervous System Tumors Among Infants in Canada: A Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) tumors in infants are rare, pose unique clinical challenges, and lack large‐scale evidence‐based data to guide management. This study seeks to describe CNS tumors in Canadian infants and to compare their outcomes with those of older children.

A real-time system for capturing HDR videos [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 20th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2012
We present a system that is capable of capturing, processing and displaying High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos at 23 frames per second. For each frame in the video, a sequence of regular images is captured in quick succession at optimally chosen shutter speeds.

Real-Time Optimal Approach and Capture of ENVISAT Based on Neural Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2020
A neural network-based controller is developed to enable a chaser spacecraft to approach and capture a disabled Environmental Satellite (ENVISAT). This task is conventionally tackled by framing it as an optimal control problem.

Social Functioning Within the First Years After Pediatric Brain Tumor Diagnosis and the Relationship With Family Psychosocial Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of pediatric brain tumors (PBTs) can experience long‐term social difficulties, impacting quality of life. Beyond medical and environmental factors, family psychosocial risk may play a role in social outcomes by shaping the caregiving environment and may provide intervention options.

Compton imaging for dosimetry and real time monitoring in boron neutron capture therapy [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is an emerging radiotherapy technique that exploits the high neutron capture cross-section of 10B to deliver targeted high-LET radiation to tumor cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.

Retrospective Analysis of Donor Lymphocyte Infusions in Pediatric Patients With Mixed Chimerism After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) is an essential therapy for several malignant and nonmalignant diseases, but relapse and graft loss remain the principal threats to its success. Routine monitoring of chimerism and minimal residual disease (MRD) enables early detection of imminent recurrence and guides ...

The Impact of the COVID‐19 Pandemic on Childhood Cancer Survival: A Population‐Based Assessment of Survival Patterns Between 2015 and 2023 in Germany

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Numerous international studies have reported declines in new cancer diagnoses, delayed diagnoses and disruptions in cancer treatment following the implementation of COVID‐19 pandemic public health measures, raising concerns that these effects may ultimately contribute to increased cancer mortality.

Imaginary-time method for ααn radiative capture reaction rates

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The ααn process plays a crucial role in bridging the A=5, 8 gap in a neutron-rich environment, and determining its reaction rate is highly significant in nuclear astrophysics.

Real-Time Human Motion Capture Driven by a Wireless Sensor Network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Games Technology, 2015
The motion of a real object model is reconstructed through measurements of the position, direction, and angle of moving objects in 3D space in a process called “motion capture.” With the development of inertial sensing technology, motion capture systems ...
