Male achiasmatic meiosis in Caraboidea (Coleoptera, Adephaga)
Genetica, 1981The meiotic process was studied in fifty-three species belonging to the caraboid families Bembidiidae (48). Trechidae (3), Pogonidae (1), and Harpalidae (1). Males show achiasmatic meiosis patterns of the Callimantis type. In females only early prophase stages were observed, that are similar to those of the males.

A chromosome study ofScarites occidentalis (Coleoptera, Caraboidea)
Experientia, 1984Scarites occidentalis has 2n=41 (females 2n=42), n=19+X1X2Y. This multiple sex-chromosome system and other karyotypic characteristics suggest that this species andS. buparius share a recent common ancestor in which the sex trivalent was probably originated.

Cicindelid beetles without multiple sex chromosomes (Coleoptera, Caraboidea)
Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1986The spermatogenesis of three species of Spanish cicindelid beetles has been studied. Megacephala euphratica has 2n = 30 + X, Cicindela paludosa has 2n = 14 + X and is polymorphic for B chromosomes, and C. littorea has 2n = 18 + X1X2X3Y. Differences in chromosome size and length, recombination index, and other cytogenetic characters are found between ...

A chromosome study of Spanish Bembidiidae and other Caraboidea (Coleoptera, Adephaga)
Genetica, 1981The karyotypes were studied of fifty-three Spanish Caraboidea species belonging to the following families: Trechidae (3 species), Bembidiidae (48), Pogonidae (1) and Harpalidae (1). Differences in the shape of the largest pair of autosomes (A pair) and the Y-chromosome are frequent among closely related species.
