The Medicine Tree: Unsettling palaeoecological perceptions of past environments and human activity [PDF]
In this paper, we consider palaeoecological approaches to past landscapes and reflect upon how these are relevant to archaeological themes concerning concepts of environmental change and the role of past and present human communities in these processes ...

Cave use by bats in the central Himalayas shows elevational and seasonal patterning wherein species richness is higher in early spring compared to mid‐winter. The species that occupy these systems prefer a warmer microclimate as winter progresses to spring (i.e., from hibernation phase to reproduction phase).

Understanding how ecological communities respond to environmental variation is a fundamental goal in ecology. Both intraspecific trait variability (ITV) and species turnover contribute to shaping community functional composition, yet their relative importance in mediating community responses remains insufficiently resolved.

Interspecific competition, a fundamental ecological process characterized by negative interactions between species, plays a vital role in shaping ecological communities. Despite the co‐occurrence of the snow leopard Panthera uncia and the Eurasian lynx Lynx lynx across vast landscapes in Asia, their interactions remain poorly understood. In this study,

Phylogenetic structure and formation mechanism of shrub communities in arid and semiarid areas of the Mongolian Plateau [PDF]
The mechanisms of species coexistence within a community have always been the focus in ecological research. Community phylogenetic structure reflects the relationship of historical processes, regional environments, and interactions between species, and ...

This study utilized the LandTrendr algorithm to monitor shrub disturbances on the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau from 1990 to 2022. The findings indicate that climate, topography, and grazing are the primary drivers of shrub disturbances, providing valuable scientific evidence for ecological monitoring.
