MORPHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF NODULES ON CARAGANA ARBORESCENS LAM.

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1955
Developmental stages of nodules on Caragana arborescens, a woody perennial leguminous species, were studied. Root hair invasion and early cortical infection conformed to the well-known description of herbaceous leguminous nodules having apical meristems, except that a relatively smaller number of cells was infected.

SELF-COMPATIBILITY OF CARAGANA ARBORESCENS LAM.

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1955
Self-compatibility (% of 'tripped' flowers setting pods) for 218 selections of Caragana arborescens varied continuously from 0.0 to 99.5%. The frequency distribution of the compatibility data in terms of percentage was positively skewed by an excess of low self-compatibility plants and had a mean of 36.9%.

[Caragana arborescens lectin--a marker of myoepitheliocytes of salivary glands].

Morfologiia (Saint Petersburg, Russia), 1999
Submaxillary salivary gland preparations of a horse, a cow, a pig, a rabbit and white outbred rats were stained with peroxidase-labeled lectins of different carbohydrate specificity. It was found that N-acetyl-D-galactosamine-specific lectins (Caragana arborescens Lam., Phaseolus unatus seeds, Helix pomatia sails) bind selectively with ...
