Presence of carbazole and polyhalogenated carbazoles in human urine

Science of The Total Environment
Exposure to carbazole (CZ) and polyhalogenated carbazoles (PHCZs) may pose a threat to human health, owing to their potential dioxin-like toxicity. Until now, the presence of these chemicals in the human urine from the general population is still unclear.

Copper(II)-Catalyzed Iodinations of Carbazoles: Access to Functionalized Carbazoles

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
A copper-catalyzed iodination of carbazoles has been developed. Barluenga's reagent IPy2BF4 is used to generate a soft electrophilic halonium species for the iodination of the carbazoles. This report represents the first concept of copper-catalyst-promoted electrophilic halogenation of carbazoles.
