MODELING SHIELDING EFFECTIVENESS FOR COMPOSITE WALLS OF CONCRETE AND CARBON FILAMENTS

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research M, 2013
Concrete walls reinforced with rebars have poor shielding efiectiveness for telecommunication frequencies (frequencies above 0.5GHz). An efiective method to increase the shielding efiectiveness of the walls is to increase the complex permittivity of the concrete. This can be done by mixing in thin fllaments of a material with high conductivity.

Preparation and Properties of Composite Graphene/Carbon Fiber Pouring Conductive Asphalt Concrete

open access: yesPolymers, 2023
To solve the problem of snow on steel bridge areas endangering traffic safety and low road traffic efficiency in winter, conductive gussasphait concrete (CGA) was prepared by mixing conductive phase materials (graphene and carbon fiber) into Gussasphalt (GA). First, through high-temperature rutting test, low-temperature bending test, immersion Marshall

Multifunctional Crushing and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Conductive Epoxy/CNT‐Coated Polyetherimide TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Strengthening of reinforced concrete structures by composite materials taking into consideration the carbonization of concrete

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2023
One of the main causes for deterioration of reinforced concrete structures in modern construction is corrosion of reinforcement. Corrosion leads to decrease of adhesion between reinforcement and concrete, formation of cracks and destruction of the protective layer of concrete. All this reduces the load-bearing capacity of reinforced concrete structures.
