Carbon resource reallocation with emission quota in carbon emission trading system

Journal of Environmental Management, 2023
In this study, a two-stage data envelopment analysis approach is developed to examine resource allocation in a real-world carbon emissions trading system. First, this study focuses on the actual participation process of incorporated units in the trading system, where incorporated units will be allocated with a carbon emission quota.

Debt overhang and carbon emissions

International Journal of Managerial Finance, 2022
PurposeThis study investigates the association between debt overhang and carbon emissions (both direct and indirect emissions) using a sample of US publicly listed firms.Design/methodology/approachThe study applies generalized least squares (GLS) regression analyses to a sample of 2,043 US firm-year observations over a period of 14 years from 2007 to ...

Dynamic Carbon Emission Management

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
The control of carbon emissions by policymakers poses the corporate challenge of developing an optimal carbon management policy. We provide a unified model that characterizes how firms should optimally manage emissions through production, green investment, and the trading of carbon credits.

Carbon Emission Performance Research Based on the “Full Carbon Emission”

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
The full carbon emission is calculated by using the solar emergy as a dimension normalizing tool in this paper. Its accounts include energy consumption carbon emission, potential carbon consumption of biomass resource consumption, and potential carbon consumption of waste emission.

Carbon Emission Abatement: An Introduction

2013 Sixth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering, 2013
Recently, carbon emission abatement has been a key focus for environment-related policy making. However, it is very difficult for governments to set an appropriate abatement target and for economists to estimate how much emission reduction investment should be put. This paper first reviews existed measures of carbon emission abatement, and then surveys

Forecasting carbon dioxide emissions

Journal of Environmental Management, 2015
This study extends the literature on forecasting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by applying the reduced-form econometrics approach of Schmalensee et al. (1998) to a more recent sample period, the post-1997 period. Using the post-1997 period is motivated by the observation that the strengthening pace of global climate policy may have been accelerated ...

Anthropogenic Emissions of Carbon Monoxide

Reviews on Environmental Health, 2000
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, nonirritating, odorless and tasteless gas. Carbon monoxide combines with hemoglobin far more readily than does oxygen, leading to tissue hypoxia. Thousands of people die annually from CO poisoning, and those recovering from acute exposure commonly suffer brain damage.

Carbon Emissions of Infrastructure Development

Environmental Science & Technology, 2013
Identifying strategies for reconciling human development and climate change mitigation requires an adequate understanding of how infrastructures contribute to well-being and greenhouse gas emissions. While direct emissions from infrastructure use are well-known, information about indirect emissions from their construction is highly fragmented. Here, we
