Biofabrication of a Filtration Barrier by Integrating Electrospun Membranes and Flow in a Glomerular Co‐Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ex vivo glomerular filtration barrier is engineered using electrospun, biomimetic membranes seeded with human glomerular cells. The model supports fenestrated endothelium and podocyte foot processes under flow, mimics size‐selective filtration, and enables disease modeling with hiPSC‐derived podocytes, offering a powerful platform for studying ...

Heterogeneities in carbon fibers

Carbon, 1975
Abstract Acrylic fibers, stabilized acrylic fibers, and graphite fibers have been selectively etched by ion bombardment. After ion etching, the fibers are characterized by structures oriented transverse to the fiber axis with an average spacing ranging from 500 to 3000 A.
