Surface characterization in composite and titanium bonding [PDF]

open access: yes
The failure surface analysis of adhesively bonded carbon fiber composites is described. The emphasis is on the bonding of composites when the surface has been made intentionally resin-rich.

Smart Nanogels as Enzyme‐Driven Nanomotors for Navigating Viscous Physiological Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two families of urease‐powered nanomotors (NMs), with and without a p‐(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (p‐HEMA) shell, have been successfully prepared. Both types exhibit effective motion in highly viscous synovial fluid media at low urea concentrations (25 mM).

Properties of carbon fibers with various coatings [PDF]

open access: yes
It is shown that all high modulus carbon fibers are durable with respect to thermal oxidation in air. Among the more widely used and economical materials with low modulus, Celion displays particularly good oxidative durability at high temperatures.

Alginate‐Sludge Derived Biochar‐Calcium Hydrogel for Phosphate Removal and Slow‐Release Fertilizer: A Sustainable and Multifunctional Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An alginate‐based biochar hydrogel (ABC‐hydrogel), derived from sewage sludge, is developed for simultaneous phosphate removal and agricultural reuse. It captures phosphorus from water and gradually releases it as fertilizer, enhancing lettuce growth.
