Nanostructured Hydrogen‐Selective Palladium “Plug” Membranes Capable of Withstanding High Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanostructured palladium membrane is developed for high‐temperature hydrogen separation, comprising isolated, thermally‐stable palladium plugs embedded within nanopores of a porous support. The membrane withstands high temperatures (1000 K for 100 h) without structural failure, demonstrating exceptional robustness over conventional metal membranes ...

Nuclear reactions in shock wave front during supernova events [PDF]

open access: yes
The new unique isotopic anomalous coponent of Xe(XeX) was found in the carbonaceous chondrites. It is enriched in light shielded isotopes (124Xe and 126Xe) and in heavy nonshielded isotopes (134Xe and 136Xe.

Nitrogen isotope analysis of ammonium and glycine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Stable isotope techniques can be used as a tool in nitrogen cycling studies of different ecosystems. The studies are based on measurement of the heavy (15N)- to- light (14N) isotopic ratios of nitrogen in different biospheric pools.

Diamonds and carbon isotopes

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1983
Diamond crystals may contain useful geochemical evidence of the deep portions of the upper mantle in their carbon isotopes. Two recent studies of types I and II diamonds showed that variations in δ13C may be related to carbon reservoir sources in the mantle (Nature, 303, 791–792, and 793–795, 1983).

Harmonizing the Pyrene and Ether Groups in Covalent Triazine Polymers for Highly Effective H2O2 Photosynthesis via One‐Step Two‐Electron Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The pyrene and ether groups are incorporated into the covalent triazine polymer (CTP) structure. The synergistic effect of the two functional groups endows CTP with better electron transfer, light absorption, and oxygen activation properties. An impressive apparent quantum yield (13.2% @420 nm) and a remarkable solar‐to‐chemical conversion efficiency ...

A light carbon isotope composition for the Sun

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
AbstractMeasurements by the Genesis mission have shown that solar wind oxygen is depleted in the rare isotopes, 17O and 18O, by approximately 80 and 100‰, respectively, relative to Earth’s oceans, with inferred photospheric values of about −60‰ for both isotopes.

Synergistic Fluorine and Cyanide Co‐Modification to Reinforce Photoinduced Excitons Formation and Transfer for Efficient CO2 Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An advanced F‐doped and ─CN group co‐modified FCCN is developed. Due to the synergistic effects of co‐modification in promoting photogenerated exciton generation, enhancing charge kinetics, expanding active interfacial areas, and optimizing CO2 interfacial reactions, the FCCN photocatalyst demonstrates excellent catalytic performance and high ...

Variations in molecular and isotopes composition of seepage gases in the north western and south eastern parts of lake Baikal

open access: yesGeoresursy
The paper presents results of gas-geochemical studies of bottom sediments and petroleum potential assessment of Baikal Rift Basin. During the expeditions of the Class@Baikal project in 2014–2019, gases from the Lake Baikal bottom sediments were analyzed.

Modulating Surface‐Active Hydrogen for Facilitating Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electroreduction on Layered Double Hydroxides Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The NiCuFe‐layered double hydroxides nanosheets are synthesized for facilitating nitrate‐to‐ammonia with a high ammonia yield of 1.64 mmol h−1 cm−2, Faradaic efficiency of 94.8% and stability for 15 cycles. The assembled Zn‐nitrate battery delivers a remarkable power density of 12.4 mW cm−2.
