Cooperative and non-cooperative solutions to carbon leakage [PDF]

open access: yes
A modified version of the CGE GTAP-E model is developed for assessing the economic and carbon emissions effects related to alternative policy measures implemented with the aim of reducing carbon leakage. We explore a set of scenarios, comparing solutions

Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Oral Dosed Organo‐Silica Nanoparticles Restore Glucose Homeostasis and β‐Cell Function in Diabetes Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An oral nanoplatform, MOP@T@D, which can maintain glucose homeostasis and restore islet β cells in diabetic rats is developed. It achieves efficient intestinal absorption and liver‐targeted delivery. The nanoparticle disintegrates only in response to hyperglycemia to release insulin on demand and provides antioxidant protection through selenoprotein ...

Study on Void Reactivity of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Cooled Reactor

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2023
Due to the weak moderating capability of carbon dioxide itself, supercritical carbon dioxide cooled reactor typically has a hard energy spectrum and is susceptible to safety issues introduced by positive reactivity feedback in the event of LOCA (loss of ...

Carbon leakage in a small open economy with capital mobility

open access: yes, 2001
The carbon emissions abatement, undertaken by some countries, may induce other countries to increase their own emissions. This effect, known as "carbon leakage", may be due to rather different mechanisms.

Smarter Sensors Through Machine Learning: Historical Insights and Emerging Trends across Sensor Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights how machine learning (ML) algorithms are employed to enhance sensor performance, focusing on gas and physical sensors such as haptic and strain devices. By addressing current bottlenecks and enabling simultaneous improvement of multiple metrics, these approaches pave the way toward next‐generation, real‐world sensor applications.

Social cost of carbon pricing of power sector CO2: accounting for leakage and other social implications from subnational policies

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
In environments where climate policy has partial coverage or unequal participation, carbon dioxide (CO _2 ) emissions or economic activity may shift to locations and sectors where emissions are unregulated. This is referred to as leakage.
