Unlocking the potential of stimuli‐responsive liquid crystal polymer bio‐interfaces for adaptive cell modulation

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective discusses the potential of stimuli‐responsive liquid crystal polymer bio‐interfaces in modulating cell behavior as next generation dynamic artificial scaffolds. Unlike current artificial biomaterials that have static properties, LCPs offer fast, reversible, and spatially programmable deformation that reflects the dynamic properties of ...

The scale matters: A review on stimuli‐responsive microrobots categorized by scale for biomedical applications

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...

Ionogel Actuators: A Review

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Ionogels dynamically and functionally couple ionic liquids with polymer networks, enabling multiscale programmable deformation and motion under electrical, magnetic, optical, thermal, humidity, and chemical stimuli. This article systematically elucidates the constituent components, structural design, and multiscale actuation mechanisms of ionogel ...

High‐Resolution Microlens‐Assisted Tunable n‐Type Optical Doping in Monolayer MoS2

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The laser‐assisted microlens array processing (LAMP) technique enables sub‐diffraction, localized n‐type optical doping of monolayer MoS2 by utilizing self‐assembled microspheres as microlenses. Controlled sulfur vacancy formation under low‐power laser irradiation allows precise tuning of the carrier concentration.
