By combining polarization‐resolved IRRAS on atomically flat CeO2(111) single crystals with quantitative XPS and DFT calculations, we identify an unusual subsurface interstitial configuration of Pt single atoms that gives rise to a previously unobserved, blue‐shifted CO vibrational mode.

Role of Water in Low‐Temperature CO2 Reduction at Defect‐Rich TiO2
Our results highlight the potential of reduced titania as a noble metal‐free CO2 activation catalyst and show the activation of CO2 on highly defective TiO2 using in situ synchrotron‐based NAP‐XPS from room temperature to 700 K. The distribution of surface intermediates can be decoded as a simultaneous population of reaction routes, revealing water (OH)

Coking is the central source of deactivation of zeolite catalysts. Using in situ XPS along with complementary methods, we identify differences in the formation kinetics and composition of surface coke on industrially relevant ZSM‐5 catalysts during MTH conversion, demonstrating the strong potential of this technique for studying catalyst deactivation ...

Thermal Calculations for Co‐Firing of Hydrogen/Ammonia and Coal in 660‐MW Coal‐Fired Boilers
ABSTRACT To achieve a clean energy transition under the dual carbon goals, blending hydrogen/ammonia into pulverized coal boilers represents a key technological pathway. Different hydrogen/ammonia co‐firing ratios (5%–50%) are investigated for their impact on the thermodynamic characteristics of 660‐MW supercritical boiler at 100% and 20% boiler ...
