Deacetylation of cellulose acetate nanofibers by fluorination for carbon nanofibers
Materials Letters, 2016Abstract Cellulose acetate (CA), with an easily controlled morphology in the production of nanofibers, requires deacetylation to produce carbon nanofibers (CFs). In this study, electrospun CA nanofibers were deacetylated by fluorination. In mild fluorination, CA nanofiber and fluorinated CA nanofibers had similar fiber morphologies.

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2016Thermoacoustic performance of thin freestanding sheets of carbonized poly(acrylonitrile) and polybenzimidazole nanofibers are studied as promising candidates for thermophones. We analyze thermodynamic properties of sheets using transport parameters of single nanofibers and their aligned and randomly electrospun thin film assemblies.
