Highly photo-stable Perovskite nanocubes: towards integrated single photon sources based on tapered nanofibers

open access: yes, 2020
The interest in perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) such as CsPbBr$_3$ for quantum applications is rapidly raising, as it has been demonstrated that they can behave as very efficient single photon emitters.

A Termite‐Inspired Alternative to Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A termite‐inspired composite of clay, cellulose, and lignin forms a dense fibrous network with concrete‐like strength (32 MPa) and superior elasticity, processed at ambient temperature. Abstract Clay combined with organic materials is used by termites as a strong and durable construction material for their mounds with minimal environmental impact. Here,

Durable Physically Mixed Microporous and Mesoporous MOFs/Nanofiber Aerogel 3D Composites for Effective Toxic Gas Capture and Organophosphonate Detoxification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultralight 3D nanofibrous aerogels embedded with metal‐organic frameworks effectively capture and neutralize toxic gases and organophosphonates. Incorporating mesoporous UiO‐66‐NH2 and HKUST‐1 into PAN/PVP fibers enables high MOF loading while maintaining mechanical strength and structural stability.

Effects of Nanoparticles on the Dynamic Morphology of Electrified Jets

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the effects of nanoparticles on the onset of varicose and whipping instabilities in the dynamics of electrified jets. In particular, we show that the non-linear interplay between the mass of the nanoparticles and electrostatic ...

Designed-in molecular interactions lead to superior thermo-mechanical properties in nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The effect of the nanofiller chemistry on the mechanical behaviour of thermoset polymer matrix nanocomposites is investigated. The interaction between a crosslinked polymer resin and the reinforcing nanofibers driven by their chemistry is revealed by ...

Analysis of the Electrochemical Stability of Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Dry Films for Improved Dry‐Processed Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...
