About interaction boron-carbon nanotubes with metal atoms

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2015
We assumed that in our earlier papers that the interaction between some metal atoms and their intercalation inside the nanotube is possible. These facts suggest us that the boron-carbon nanotube may be the new material, which is as well as pure carbon ...

Nano-assembled open quantum dot nanotube devices

open access: yesCommunications Materials
A pristine suspended carbon nanotube is a near ideal environment to host long-lived quantum states. For this reason, they have been used as the core element of qubits and to explore numerous condensed matter physics phenomena.

Zipping and unzipping of nanoscale carbon structures

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate theoretically that hydrogenation and annealing applied to nanoscale carbon structures play a crucial role in determining the final shape of the system.

Single‐Step Conversion of Metal Impurities in CNTs to Electroactive Metallic Nitride Nanoclusters for Electrochemical CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step, low‐temperature co‐pyrolysis process removes encapsulated seed metal NPs (10–50 nm) from CNTs, redistributing them as surface‐anchored metal and metal–nitride NCs (1–1.5 nm). Herein, Ni3N NCs achieve an ultra‐low onset overpotential for CO2 reduction to CO with >98% Faradaic efficiency across 100–700 mA cm−2.

Nanofillers Reinforcing Biopolymer Composites for Sustainable Food Packaging Applications: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biopolymers are sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to petroleum‐based plastics for food packaging. Its adoption is often limited by poor mechanical strength, barrier properties, and improved thermal stability through the incorporation of nanofillers.

Mechanical properties of carbon nanotube/polymer composites

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2014
The remarkable mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes, such as high elastic modulus and tensile strength, make them the most ideal and promising reinforcements in substantially enhancing the mechanical properties of resulting polymer/carbon nanotube ...

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Electron emission characteristics of wet spun carbon nanotube fibers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Wet spun carbon nanotube fibers were characterized using both field emission and electron energy distribution measurements. Fowler-Nordheim analysis of the field emission results showed that the carbon fibers demonstrated a large effective emission area,
