Carbon Tantalum Internal Friction Peak

Journal of Applied Physics, 1957
The internal friction peak in tantalum arising from the diffusion of interstitial carbon has been located at 338°C for vibration frequencies of 0.55 cps. The corresponding activation energy is 39.6 kcal. The identification of this peak is made difficult by its proximity to the nitrogen peak. However, the two can be distinguished by the lesser stability

Personal exposure to black carbon during commuting in peak and off-peak hours in Shanghai

Science of The Total Environment, 2015
A study on a commuter's exposure to black carbon (BC) in five different traffic modes (taxi, bus, subway, cycling and walking) was conducted in Xuhui District, Shanghai. A commuter's real-time exposure concentrations were recorded by MicroAeth AE51 BC monitors, and the average BC exposure concentration and inhalation dose were analyzed.

Goals on the road: institutional innovations in carbon peak and carbon neutrality

Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies, 2021
A low-carbon economy is not only vital to human survival but also to national energy security. The dual goals of carbon emission include those of a carbon peak and carbon neutrality, which are nece...

[Analysis of Peak Carbon Status and Influencing Factors in Peak Carbon Pilot Cities].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue
Cities are the key area for realizing peak carbon, and promoting low-carbon transformation in cities is an important tool for China to achieve the dual-carbon target. The characteristic reform programs of peak carbon pilot cities provide good references and guidance for other cities in China to reach the peak carbon goal.

Comments on surface carbon peaks in SERS

Chemical Physics Letters, 1985
Abstract Observation of strong SERS spectra of pyridine in a non-aqueous electrochemical cell, free of surface carbon peaks, suggests that surface carbon is not a prerequisite for SERS. However, surface carbon, created in the aqueous system by dissolution of CO 2 and also by photocarbonization at higher electrode potentials, affects the electrode ...

Peak Oil in a Carbon Constrained World

International Review of Environmental and Resource Economics, 2008
The world petroleum complex has been on a treadmill, struggling to add increments of new production to keep pace with growing demand and depletion. If the oil price shock of 1979–1981 is considered an aberration due to panic inventory building, recent real oil prices are at levels not seen since the 19th century.

Influence of microstructure on the carbon damping peak in iron-carbon alloys

Acta Metallurgica, 1958
Abstract The internal-friction peak due to the stress-induced migration of carbon in b.c.c. iron has been studied in a series of high-purity iron-carbon alloys with variations in grain size and intercarbide distance. It is found that when these microstructural parameters are small the height of the carbon damping peak does not correspond to the ...
