Coupling of straw returning and nitrogen-water integration on rice nitrogen recovery and soil carbon pool

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
The traditional rice fertilization method of spreading increases yield at the cost of reducing nitrogen uptake efficiency and accelerating soil organic carbon loss. Given the rapid changes in rice production within Southwest China's crop rotation system,

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

A suitable organic fertilizer substitution ratio could improve maize yield and soil fertility with low pollution risk

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Organic fertilizer substitution (OFS) is an effective strategy for reducing the chemical fertilizer usage; however, the effects of different OFS ratios (OFSRs) on maize yield, soil fertility, and heavy metal pollution risk are still unclear.

Application of Ibuprofen Sodium Dihydrate for Thermochemical Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ibuprofen sodium dihydrate is introduced as a durable organic salt hydrate for low‐temperature thermochemical energy storage, operating within 60°C–110°C with high energy density. At the material level, it delivers ∼99.9% cycling efficiency over 150 cycles without deliquescence, enabled by a dual energy‐storage mechanism coupling dehydration and phase ...
