This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Time-Varying Impacts of Carbon Price Drivers in the EU ETS: A TVP-VAR Analysis
This study analyzes the impacts of different drivers on the pricing of EU carbon futures in various periods by using the time-varying parameter vector autoregressive (TVP-VAR) model.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Emissions trading, carbon pricing, and the impact on carbon producing firms : a study of phase III of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Business (Finance) at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
This thesis examines the firm level impact of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), the ability to hedge carbon price, and the determinants of carbon price. The analysis focuses on phase III of the EU ETS.

The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
