Gate-Defined Quantum Dots on Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesNano Letters, 2005
We report the realization of nanotube-based quantum dot structures that use local electrostatic gating to produce individually controllable dots in series along a nanotube. Electrostatic top-gates produce depletion regions in the underlying tube; a pair of such depletion regions defines a quantum dot.

Accessing the quantum world through electronic transport in carbon nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this thesis we will focus on (a) superconducting electrodes attached to carbon nanotube quantum dots in order to study the effects of superconducting correlations on quantum systems and (b) local gate control of carbon nanotubes in order to define

As-grown carbon nanotube quantum dots with superconducting contacts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The progress in fabrication technology and the miniaturization of nanostructured devices in the recent past has attracted a lot of interest in the field of electronic circuits on the nanoscale where the system's spatial dimensions allow for the ...

Thermally activated charge fluctuations in GaAs double quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, laterally defined GaAs quantum dots and double quantum dots are investigated by means of real-time charge sensing. A quantum dot charge sensor, adjacent to the investigated double dot system, detects single electron tunneling with ...

Observation of cooper pair splitting and andreev bound states in carbon nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, we investigate Cooper pair splitting in double quantum dot devices made from carbon nanotubes. We present transport measurements in which the controlled splitting of Cooper pairs dominates the current through such a device, reaching ...

Lights and Dots toward Therapy—Carbon-Based Quantum Dots as New Agents for Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2023
The large number of deaths induced by carcinoma and infections indicates that the need for new, better, targeted therapy is higher than ever. Apart from classical treatments and medication, photodynamic therapy (PDT) is one of the possible approaches to ...

Green fluorescent sensor based on carbon quantum dots for Cr(VI) determination [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز, 2018
In this study, a new, cheap and green fluorescence sensor based on carbon quantum dots was used for Cr (VI) determination. Carbon quantum dots were synthesized from citric acid, polyvidon and boric acid by microwave assisted method.

Engineered magnetoconductance in InAs nanowire quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Magnetoconductance is the change in the electrical transport properties of a solid state system in response to an applied magnetic field, determined by both its magnitude and orientation.
