Printed Organic Thermoelectric Generators: Progress and Challenges Towards Efficient Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Printed organic thermoelectric generators (OTEGs) enable flexible and sustainable energy harvesting from low‐grade heat. This Perspective critically assesses recent advances in printable thermoelectric materials, 2D and 3D device architectures, and current performance limits of printed OTEGs.

Reducing uncertainties in decadal variability of the global carbon budget with multiple datasets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Conventional calculations of the global carbon budget infer the land sink as a residual between emissions, atmospheric accumulation, and the ocean sink.

Dynamic Current Routing in Conductive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Complex Deformation Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel actuation control strategy in which electrical stimulation generates localized Joule heating in conductive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surfaces, enabling complex 3D deformations from a single homogeneous surface without preprogramming.

Cultivar-specific regulation of antioxidant enzyme activity and stomatal closure confer tolerance of wheat to elevated ozone: A two-year open-field study with five cultivars

open access: yesPlant Stress
Elevated concentrations of tropospheric ozone (O3) pose a significant threat to food production in many regions of the world. We conducted a two-year experiment with five winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars, Yangmai16 (Y16), Yangmai23 (Y23 ...

The Carbon sink Decreasing in the Eastern Ghats’s of Andhra Pradesh in India [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The carbon sink in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh (India) showed decreasing order through the process of deforestation during 2004-2014 and outlook in the coming 2005-2025 years ≈ -6.896x1025µmol m-2s-1 and -5.648x1025 µmol m-2s-1 respectively ( i ...

Vegetation structural change since 1981 significantly enhanced the terrestrial carbon sink

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Satellite observations show that leaf area index (LAI) has increased globally since 1981, but the impact of this vegetation structural change on the global terrestrial carbon cycle has not been systematically evaluated.

In Situ Copper Electroplating Turns Material Extrusion 3D Printers Into Metal–Polymer Hybrid Fabricators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An in situ electroplating approach for MEX 3D printing is proposed, enabling copper deposition during the fabrication of conductive polymers. The method combines a printer‐integrated plating head, ML‐based g‐code control, and stop‐and‐go printing, achieving near‐bulk copper conductivity and enabling fully embedded, assembly‐free electronic components ...

Tracking Heavy Metals and Resistance-Related Genes in Agricultural Karst Soils Derived from Various Parent Materials

open access: yesAgriculture
Karstic regions are globally distributed, and the soil-forming parent rocks and their weathering process primarily cause elevated geochemical heavy metal (HM) accumulation in karst soils. However, the patterns of HMs, the genes related to resistance, and

Controlling Film Formation in Inkjet‐printed MAPbBr3 Through Graphene Incorporation for Enhanced Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights the impact of incorporating graphene nanoflakes into precursor inks of MAPbBr3 for inkjet‐printed optoelectronic device applications. A substantial modification of the crystallization dynamics is reported despite miniscule concentrations.
