From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Estimation of Sensible and Latent Heat Fluxes from Different Ecosystems Using the Daily-Scale Flux Variance Method

open access: yesAtmosphere
A daily-scale flux variance (FV) method, which employs low-frequency air temperature measurements, was assessed against eddy covariance (EC) measurements of sensible and latent heat fluxes at four sites representing grassland and cropland ecosystems. The

CO2FIX at the landscape level - an application for the Veluwe area, the Netherlands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The carbon fixation model CO2FIX was adapted to run on landscape scale, and was applied to the Veluwe area, a forested region in the Netherlands. After a simulation of 500 years, the average carbon stock per hectare in the forest products compartment is ...

Extreme late-summer drought causes neutral annual carbon balance in southwestern ponderosa pine forests and grasslands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We assessed the impacts of extreme late-summer drought on carbon balance in a semi-arid forest region in Arizona. To understand drought impacts over extremes of forest cover, we measured net ecosystem production (NEP), gross primary production (GPP), and

Limits to growth of forest biomass carbon sink under climate change. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Widely recognized as a significant carbon sink, North American forests have experienced a history of recovery and are facing an uncertain future. This growing carbon sink is dictated by recovery from land-use change, with growth trajectory modified by ...
